Hardware Engineer

To strengthen our product development teams, we are looking for a Hardware Engineer who enjoys working on end to end hardware development in close collaboration with firmware, software and product.

What you will do

As a Hardware Engineer, you translate an existing proof of concept and a clear set of requirements into production ready hardware. You design and develop the electronics, think along on mechanical aspects and stay involved until the product is successfully running in the field.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing electronic schematics and PCB layouts in Altium Designer

• Selecting and validating components with a strong focus on low power usage and reliability

• Building prototypes so firmware development can start early

• Writing simple software or test code to validate hardware functionality

• Preparing and supporting certification processes

• Writing and maintaining technical documentation

• Actively contributing within an Agile Scrum team

The team

You will work in one of two development teams focused on the sensor network. Each team consists of 1 to 2 hardware engineers, 4 to 6 firmware and software developers and 2 system testers. Every team has its own product owner and scrum master and works in two week sprints following the Agile Scrum framework.

• HBO or WO level of thinking and working

• At least 3 years of experience as a hardware engineer

• Hands on experience with Altium Designer

• Experience with low power design and radio communication

• Experience with 802.15.4 is a plus

• A collaborative mindset and ownership from concept to production
